The author, Narcís Arbusé Bellapart, was born and worked as a teacher in Torroella de Montgrí most of his career. He invites us to discover life in villages of this area as well as in the plain and mountain back in those times, quoting excerpts from local historical documents. For instance, we will learn about the economics of its inhabitants, popular anecdotes and stories, agriculture and the cultivation of rice, the industry of ramie (Boehmeria nivea), artisan shelter structures in the countryside, unique geographical elements that shape this landscape, so closely related to the Mediterranean Sea.
