• The exhibition brings together a set of ceramic panels of popular devotion from the 17th to the 19th centuries, coming from different collections. These representations not only presided over places of worship, but also decorated the walls of traditional country houses (masies), squares and streets, acquiring a new dimension by becoming small works of popular art.

This is the most important exhibition of devotional ceramic panels that has been organized to date, both in terms of the number and the quality of the pieces that have been gathered.

  • The Mascort Foundation presents a collection of more than one hundred plates of seabirds, marine mammals and the world’s most beautiful birds as selected by the ornithologists Josep del Hoyo and Jordi Sargatal. The exhibition is part of the Mascort Foundation’s commitment to collaborating with the Philippe Cousteau Foundation “Union of the Oceans”- Mascort Space, soon to open its scientific headquarters in L’Estartit.

  • The exhibition brings together a fine selection of ceramics from the Ignacio Brugarolas collection, including Catalan tiles panels, clay water pitchers and items of Italian Renaissance earthenware, as well as examples of Spanish, French, Dutch, Swiss, Persian, Chinese and pre-Columbian ceramics, stretches from the 14th to the 19th century.

  • In 2007, the Mascort Foundation published its first book Torroella Vila Vella, a project proposed by Jan Baca Pericot (Terrassa, 1934) and Jaume Bassa Pasqual (Torroella de Montgrí, 1932) to Ramon Mascort Amigó (Barcelona, 1930) with the aim of fulfilling one of their dreams.

The result was a compendium of information about the town, a book created from texts and drawings that create a suitable atmosphere to remember our history and thus understand who we are and where we come from. It also wanted to show visitors the essence of our municipality, as authentic as it is attractive, and thus value its geography and architecture, which are witnesses to our traditions and particular way of being.

As its authors say: “Let’s go back sixty years… or seventy… How lucky we were to be born in Torroella and how lucky we were to live those years!”
